DESCRIPTION AND ORIGIN

Cloves are the dried, unopened flower buds of Eugenia caryophyllata. Cloves are generally grown in Zanzibar, Indonesia and Madagascar. The nail - shaped reddish - brown buds have a strong aromatic aroma with a pungent flavor that produces a definite numbing effect.
